John Noble Golding joins First Citizens Bank as Commercial Banking Manager

John Noble Golding has joined First Citizens Bank as Commercial Banking Manager. His responsibilities include leading a team of commercial bankers and serving the financial needs of commercial clients and key corporate customers in the greater Charleston area. He is based at the company’s office on East Bay Street.

With more than 26 years of experience in the financial services industry, Golding most recently worked at South State Bank and led the company’s Business Solutions Group, which was comprised of Treasury Management, American Pensions and South State Advisory, Inc. While leading this group, he also served as Managing Director of American Pensions (a department of South State Bank) and as President of South State Advisory, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of South State Bank). Prior to this, he led First Federal Bank’s Commercial Banking Group and worked at Wells Fargo (previously Wachovia Corporation) as a Senior Relationship Manager of the company’s Regional Commercial Banking line of business and as a Portfolio Manager.

Golding graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking, where he was awarded the Wharton Leadership Certificate.

An active member of the community, Golding volunteers as treasurer for Troop 20 of the Boy Scouts of America. Previously, he served as chairman of the American Heart Association’s 2015 Heart Ball and was a former member of the organization’s board of directors and Heart Ball sponsorship committee. He served on the Dean’s Advisory Board for Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Nursing. He also served on the board of trustees for Charleston Stage Company’s Dock Street Theatre and as co-chairman of the Advance Division for Accelerate Greater Charleston, a workforce development program conducted by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.
