LS3P’s Paul Davis Boney, FAIA, named Chairman of the AIA National Ethics Council
January 18, 2017CHARLESTON, SC – LS3P Senior Vice President | Principal |LS3P Board Member | K-12 Practice Leader Paul Davis Boney, FAIA, has been appointed by the national AIA President to the 2017 AIA National Ethics Council. The Council is responsible for the interpretation and application of the AIA’s standards for ethics and professional conduct for AIA members nationwide. Boney will serve as Chair of the AIA Ethics Council for 2017.
A third generation architect and graduate of the College of Design at NC State University, Boney has long been active in professional and community service at the local, state, and national levels. Boney has served as Chair of the AIA National Committee on Architecture for Education, 2003 Chair of the AIA National Convention, President of AIA Wilmington and AIA North Carolina, 2004 Vice President of the National AIA, member of the National AIA Board of Directors, and member of the North Carolina Board of Architecture. He has also chaired the State Building Commission, and is the current chair of its Innovations Committee. Boney is a current member of the NC Legislative Study Commission on Infrastructure Needs in NC, member of the Class XXI of Leadership NC, and member of the Architecture for Learning Environments (A4LE) Board. Boney is a current member of the New Hanover County Planning Commission and former member of the City of Wilmington Planning Commission. Boney is also a member of the UNC-Wilmington Foundation and the NC State University Board of Visitors.
For his contributions to the state and to the profession, Boney has been honored with the North Carolina Governor’s Order of the Long Leaf Pine award, the AIA North Carolina Gold Medal, the AIA North Carolina Deitrick Award, and the AIA National Richard Upjohn Fellowship. Boney is a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects.
