David Gwin joins Southeastern Insurance Consultants

Southeastern Insurance Consultants welcomes David Gwin as a part of the team. David will be working as an Employee Benefit Sales Consultant.

David Gwin has been in the life and health insurance industry for over 31 years. Prior to joining Southeastern Insurance Consultants, David spent the last 22 years in management with South Carolina’s largest insurer, recently retiring as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he was responsible for the development of plan designs, sales, retention, and marketing across all market segments. Under his leadership, they experienced record growth in all three market segments.

David has worked with companies of all sizes and industries, including a number of Fortune 100 companies, helping them control healthcare costs by creating innovative, customized plan designs. Working with employers and carriers to develop plan designs providing value and transparency has always been important to him. “Whether an employer has 5 employees, 50 employees or more than 500 employees, everyone wants to control their healthcare costs; but it is not a one size fits all business,” Gwin said.

David also was instrumental in the development of numerous tools for employers and members. “The goal is to provide people as many tools as possible so that they can actively research options when making health care buying decisions,” Gwin said. “We are encouraging people to become educated consumers of health care.”

David, a native of Birmingham, AL, received his bachelor’s degree from Samford University in 1983. He has been a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and the South Carolina Association of Health Underwriters for over 20 years and has held numerous Board positions at the local and state level.

David currently lives in Columbia, SC, with his wife Kim and their two daughters.
