Midlands Advertising Club accepts National Club of the Year and President of the Year awards
June 11, 2018American Advertising Federation of the Midlands (AAF of the Midlands) President Stephanie Owens and President-Elect Lenza Jolley accepted two awards at the American Advertising Federation’s national ADMERICA conference Friday in Chicago, IL. AAF of the Midlands received the 2018 National Club of the Year for Division III of the American Advertising Federation and President Stephanie Owens was awarded the 2018 President of the Year for Division III.
Each year, the AAF honors top clubs in eight categories: advertising education, communications, diversity & multicultural initiatives, government relations, club operations, membership, programs and public service. Additionally, a “club of the year” is chosen in each division, as well as a “president of the year.” The clubs of the year are determined by the total score of their entries in the eight categories.
AAF of the Midlands placed in six categories as well as winning the National Club of the Year award for Division III:
- Club Operations, First Place
- Communications, First Place and The Sid Bernstein Communications Award
- Membership, First Place
- Diversity & Multicultural Initiatives, Second Place
- Advertising Education, Second Place
- Programs, Third Place
“The board’s amazing teamwork paired with an active membership made for a spectacular year of programs, professional development, and community engagement,” said Owens. “I’m grateful their hard work and tireless dedication was recognized on a national level.”
Incoming President, Lenza Jolley, was a featured panelist for the “How’d They Do That?” session at the conference which included all the 2018 National Club of the Year winners. AAF of the Midlands previously won the National Club of the Year Award in 2011, 2013 and 2014.

The Columbia Ad Club was founded in 1955 and is affiliated with the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the oldest national advertising trade association, representing 50,000 professionals in the advertising industry worldwide.
