LICS hosted their annual volunteer celebration on April 24th to pay honor and tribute to the dedicated individuals, groups, businesses, churches, and other organizations that give their time to help achieve their goal of meeting critical needs in Lexington County.
37,883 volunteer hours were given to LICS by 1,796 different people in 2017. The following individuals were recognized for their outstanding service: Matthew McQueen with 1,044 hours in the Donation Center, Barb Kirby for 607 hrs in the Thrift Shop, Patty Tyner for 526 hours in the office, Pat Luoma for 509 hours in the Donation Center, and Debra Faust for 504 hours in Social Services.

The Ronn Redd Award for outstanding dedication to the LICS Food Pantry was awarded to Betty Franks. Betty makes several trips throughout the week to local grocery stores and restaurants to collect food that would be thrown out and donates it to LICS and other food pantries in the midlands.
The Corporate Partner of the Year for outstanding service to the community was awarded to House of Raeford for their continued support of LICS through the donation of 800+ pounds of poultry each week in addition to financial support.
“Without the help of these 1,796 individuals, we would not have been able to operate on a daily basis. We exist to provide hope to those in our community when they need it most, and our volunteers show up every day to help achieve this goal for their neighbors. We cannot thank them enough.” said Executive Director, Robin Bowers.
