The NORD Family Foundation contributes $50,000 to support Salvation Army Meals Service to the Homeless and Hungry Program

The NORD Family Foundation awarded $50,000 to The Salvation Army of the Midlands to support the Meals Service to the Homeless and Hungry program.

The NORD Family Foundation has been supporting the feeding program for over 10 years. With this grant, we will be able to continue to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner every day at Transitions Homeless Center. Last year, we served 247,617 meals to the homeless and hungry in Columbia.

“The Salvation Army is grateful to the NORD Family Foundation and their continued commitment to serving the homeless and hungry in our community,” said Major Henry Morris, Area Commander at The Salvation Army. “Hunger is a major issue that The Salvation Army is working to alleviate and this grant will help us continue to serve those most in need in the community.

In more than 25 years of activity, The Nord Family Foundation has contributed more than $90 million for charitable and philanthropic purposes in the Midlands and several other communities of interest to the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of Walter and Virginia Nord.
