February 23, 2018

Sarah SimmonsEnjoy a good book and a bite to eat during your next visit to Richland Library. In partnership with Chef Sarah Simmons, the Library announced the opening of the Cafe at the Main location (1431 Assembly Street) on Tuesday, February 20.

Customers are able to access the Cafe from 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays. It’s located on the First Level, near the Hampton Street entrance.

Simmons along with her husband and business partner, Aaron Hoskins, have designed a menu for the newly renovated space that features flatbreads, panini sandwiches, salads, beverages and snacks, including an assortment of Rise Gourmet Goods & Bakeshop signature baked goods. For a look at the complete menu, visit http://www.richlandlibrary.com/cafe.

While Simmons and Hoskins operate the Cafe, they also are putting a program in place for the culinary residency, geared toward the food and beverage industry. This program strives to give aspiring restaurateurs a low-risk opportunity at the library to experience running the day-to-day responsibilities of a restaurant. Working closely with Richland Library, they plan to select the participants for the program later this year.
