Thousands danced in the streets at Famously Hot New Year to welcome 2018 in Columbia, S.C.

At the seventh-annual Famously Hot New Year celebration, S.C.’s largest New Year’s Eve party, thousands of revelers rang in 2018 on Columbia, S.C.’s Main Street.

Famously Hot New Year, South Carolina’s largest New Year’s Eve party, brought thousands of guests to Columbia, S.C.’s Main Street to dance in the streets and welcome the New Year. Revelers came from across the nation, around the world and down the street for S.C.’s free party of the year, with a full-length concert from double GRAMMY-nominated artists Elle King and Nappy Roots, as well as performances from local hip hop artist FatRat Da Czar and alternative rock band SondorBlue from Charleston, S.C.

Thanks to an attractive combination of affordability, an exciting yet manageable urban atmosphere, and things to do around every walkable corner, Columbia, S.C. hosted the perfect place to settle in for a long weekend leading up to the Famously Hot New Year celebration. Locals planned a “staycation” and scheduled babysitters, and out-of-towners booked their hotels and made travel plans to visit Columbia, S.C. to ring in the New Year at Famously Hot New Year.
