Pavlicek honored among the Midlands Best and Brightest

September 1, 2016

Callison Tighe attorney Jacqueline “Jax” Pavlicek is being honored among Columbia Business Monthly’s 2016 Best and Brightest.

The award, which recognizes 35 people ages 35 and younger, is in its first year. Honorees are selected based on professional achievements and community contributions. The awards will be officially presented at a gala celebration.

Pavlicek came to Callison Tighe in 2014 after working as a staff attorney for the South Carolina Court of Appeals. She’s helped represent clients in landmark litigation, such as the case that successfully challenged South Carolina’s ban on same-sex marriage.

In addition to her litigation and appellate work, Pavlicek assists clients with employment matters and privacy and data protection issues. She’s among a small percentage of attorneys in the country to pass a comprehensive exam and earn a CIPP/US designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Pavlicek has made considerable contributions to the Columbia community as well as to the legal profession. She’s volunteered with mock trial programs from the middle school level on through the University of South Carolina School of Law. She also serves as a board member of the Columbia World Affairs Council.
