Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast to feature Christian comedienne Cherie Nettles

February 20, 2016

Chapin Mayor Skip Wilson announced that Christian comedienne Cherie Nettles will be the guest speaker for the third annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast on Friday, April 15, at 7:30 am at Town Hall.

A South Carolina native, Nettles has entertained audiences throughout the United States with her joy, laughter and motivational messages. From overcoming an early start in an abusive addictive family to her ongoing walk with Rheumatoid arthritis and as an ovarian cancer survivor, she uses her journey and comedy to share an inspirational message of hope, grace and mercy.

She has co-authored several books, including her own story, “Growing My Divine Shrine: Your Way to Live, Love and Laugh through Life.” Nettles believes laughter is truly medicine for the soul and is excited to be part of the prayer breakfast this year.

The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will also include participation by several Chapin area ministers and a tribute to Reverend Andrew Vollkommer, the longtime pastor of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church who passed away unexpectedly in January.
