Brookland-Cayce High School’s Andrew Epting Receives College Scholarship from Workers’ Compensation Insurer
July 29, 2015SCHB Self Insurers Fund is pleased to announce that recent Brookland-Cayce High School graduate Andrew Epting was the recipient of a $1,000 award from the SCHB Self Insurers Fund 2015 College Scholarship Program. An independent panel of judges who evaluated his commitment to educational excellence, community service and extracurricular activities selected Epting.
“We are delighted to present this college scholarship to Andrew,” said SCHB Self Insurers Fund Board Chairman, Herb Witter. “Andrew has demonstrated a commitment to school involvement, scholastic accomplishment, leadership and community service. We are extremely proud of his dedication and continuous effort to work hard both inside and outside the classroom.”
A celebratory scholarship dinner honoring Epting was held on July 15th at The Palmetto Club in Columbia, South Carolina. SCHB Self Insurers Fund presented the scholarship.
Epting’s science teacher, Dr. Sarah Jane Byars added, “Drew is the epitome of an honors student. His work is impeccable and any correction made will not be seen in his work from that point forward. Accolades for academics such as Junior Marshall and certificates of excellence are abundant.”
Epting will attend Clemson University this fall. He is the son of Mitzi and Charles Epting, president of Taurus Construction, an SCHB Self Insurers Fund policyholder. Carolina Insurance Group of South Carolina is the agency of record for Taurus Construction.
