Colonial Life names four to new leadership posts

COLUMBIA, SC – Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Co. recently named four professionals to new leadership posts within the company:

Steve Bygott has been promoted to vice president, Market Development. He is responsible for developing marketing strategies to grow the company’s business and brand. Bygott joined Colonial Life in 2008 and has led marketing programs, research, marketing analysis and core market services efforts to elevate Colonial Life efforts in small employer segment. He has led key market expansion initiatives and developed marketing plans that included the company’s first national TV sponsorship. He previously served in marketing leadership at AOL and Citigroup.

Pam Jenkins has been promoted to assistant vice president, Product Development. Jenkins, who has served Colonial Life for 28 years, currently manages the life product portfolio, and also previously managed the supplemental health and accident product lines.

Belinda Maffei has been promoted to assistant vice president, Broker Market Services. Maffei joined Colonial Life in 1991 and has served the company in a variety of roles in areas including operations and broker marketing. Last year, Maffei took on leadership responsibility for the seven regional broker market managers.

Joe Roof has been promoted to assistant vice president, Claims. Roof, who joined Colonial Life in 2008 as director in the Contact Center, moved to the claims organization in 2010. He previously spent several years at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina.
