2 Specialists Join Derrick, Stubbs & Stith

COLUMBIA, SC – Derrick, Stubbs & Stith, LLP, has added a senior tax specialist and an audit and assurance specialist to its staff, bringing to 22 the number of professionals on hand to help Midlands businesses meet a range of accounting and consulting needs.

A.J. Duesler joined the firm in June as a senior tax specialist. A certified public accountant, Duesler worked in update New York for five years before coming to South Carolina. He also taught at a small college in New York and served on the finance committee of a nonprofit organization.

Duesler holds a bachelor’s in accounting from the State University of New York and a master’s of business administration in accountancy from Utica College. He earned a CPA certificate in 2012.

Duesler’s concentrations at Derrick, Stubbs & Stith will be taxation, consulting and auditing. He’ll serve industries such as construction, health care, nonprofits, government agencies and more.

Joseph M. Andrade, an audit and assurance specialist, also joined the firm in June. Prior to that, he was a tax specialist at Pricewaterhouse Coopers VBO.

Andrade holds a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Massachusetts and has completed graduate coursework in accounting at the University of South Carolina. He is pursuing CPA certification.

At Derrick, Stubbs & Stith, Andrade will focus on accounting, auditing and taxation. He’ll serve industries such as manufacturing, nonprofits and government entities.
