Triangle Construction helps shape the Upstate for 70 years

November 28, 2017

Triangle Construction, a general contractor that specializes in multiple types of construction, is celebrating its 70th anniversary. Since 1947, the Greenville based company has been an integral part of helping shape the Upstate and is responsible for some of the area’s best known buildings, including the original Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and the Poinsett Club. This has continued, with Triangle’s involvement with the Peace Center’s renovations and construction of Furman University’s Furman Hall and Duke Library along with other higher education facilities in the Upstate. The company’s construction expertise and versatility is reflected in the variety of its projects: industrial plants, higher education facilities, religious facilities, offices, hospitals, restaurants, apartment buildings, shopping centers and more.

“For 70 years, Triangle Construction has provided exceptional construction services, and we are committed to carrying the company’s strong reputation forward,” said Thomas Baer, president of Triangle Construction. “We are very proud to reach this milestone and attribute this accomplishment to the hard work and dedication of our associates over the years.”

Triangle Construction was founded by John Pellett, Jr., Heyward Morgan and Nelson Tracy. The three college classmates came together to start “Triangle,” which represents, ingenuity, hard work and dedication. The employee-owned company has an average tenure of more than 25 years and has a rich history of integrity, commitment and loyalty.

“We are dedicated to serving the Upstate as a reliable builder and resource,” said Tracy Pellett, chairman of the board for Triangle Construction. “Most of the community has most likely stepped foot in, was born in, educated in or worshipped in a building that we constructed, and we are very fortunate to have played such an active role in the Upstate’s growth. Our company and team are stronger than ever, and we look forward to the next 70 years and what the future holds for Triangle Construction.”

Triangle leadership and employees credit the company’s longevity and success to its strong reputation of delivering quality work, valued family-oriented culture and its strong ties to the community. The company recently celebrated the anniversary with employees, customers and friends at Triangle’s Laurens Road office, which was built in 1955.
