Marc Warren joins GMC as Vice President, Senior Architect

Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood (GMC) announced that Marc Warren, AIA, has joined the firm as Vice President and Senior Architect, launching the firm’s newest office in Columbia, S.C. A seasoned architect, he has more than 20 years of experience designing and managing commercial and institutional projects throughout the Carolinas.
“Marc’s experience, integrity and care for the community fit hand-in-glove with GMC’s core purpose,” Regional Vice President Kevin Laird said. “Establishing our Columbia presence with Marc further solidifies our commitment to South Carolina, and we look forward to building a strong office around him to better serve our clients and the community.”
Warren brings an impressive portfolio of work, including Hollings Judicial Center in Charleston, BlueCross BlueShield Palmetto GBA corporate headquarters in Columbia, Palmetto Health Park Ridge Hospital in Irmo and Colonial Life Arena in Columbia. He has also worked with the University of South Carolina on numerous projects, including Rice Athletics Center, Football Training Center, Basketball Game Day Locker Rooms Renovation and the Student Health Center.
Prior to joining GMC, Warren was a project manager and member of the senior leadership team at Quackenbush Architects + Planners and principal and project manager at JHS Architecture: Integrated Design.
He is engaged in the community, both professionally and civically, and has served in various leadership capacities through AIA Greater Columbia, past president, board member and design director; AIA South Carolina, section director, board member and education committee chairman; Jeep Rogers YMCA, board chairman and facility committee chairman; and Columbia YMCA Metro, board member.
Warren earned his Master of Architecture and BPS Architecture from State University of New York at Buffalo. He is licensed in North and South Carolina, in addition to being NCARB certified, and is a LEED-accredited professional.
