Nissan of Greer takes part in historic Upstate celebration

May 25, 2015

GREER, SC – The City of Greenville unveiled the Upstate’s first Level III electric car charger Friday morning, and Nissan of Greer was there.

The charger was installed at the Richardson Street Garage downtown through the Nissan EV Advantage Program, which donates equipment and services to eligible site hosts throughout the country to subsidize the cost to install the chargers.

The City worked with ChargeUp, LLC, a preferred EV infrastructure installation partner of Nissan North America on the installation. Friday’s celebration was led by Greenville Mayor Knox White along with members of the City’s Green Ribbon Advisory Committee.

The DC Fast Charger, which rapidly charges electric vehicles (EVs) with direct current electricity, is the fastest charger available, said George Watson, the general manager at Nissan of Greer.

“We at Nissan of Greer are very excited to be part of this event,” Watson said.
