Spartanburg Water announces new Watershed Management Coordinator
July 30, 2018Spartanburg Water is pleased to announce the promotion of Jon Morgan to the position of Watershed Management Coordinator with responsibilities of supervising Law Enforcement functions of Spartanburg Water as Acting Chief Lake Warden. Jon has been employed with Spartanburg Water since 2003 where he began his career as a Lake Warden. Prior to his tenure with Spartanburg Water, Jon was employed by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism as a Park Ranger.
Jon has a B.S. in Aquaculture, Fisheries and Wildlife Biology and a minor in Environmental Science. He holds various certifications and credentials including Class I Law Enforcement Officer, instructor in Boater Education, Hunter Education, CPR/AED, Community First Aid and Safety and is an ACA Certified Kayak/Canoe Trip Leader.
Jon is active in the Spartanburg and Upstate Community as well as professional organizations throughout the State. These include the Water Environment Association of South Carolina, South Carolina Law Enforcement Association and various Cycling organizations and youth sports coaching activities.
