Upstate Forever and Heart of Boiling Springs to host second public community workshop – April 26
April 19, 2018Upstate Forever and Heart of Boiling Springs will host the second in a series of community visioning public workshops in partnership with Toole Design Group on Thursday, April 26, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at New Beginnings United Methodist Church, 210 Rainbow Lake Rd., Boiling Springs (note change of venue from previously published location).
Area residents, business owners, and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend. Based on input received and data collected throughout the visioning process, a preliminary vision for the future of Boiling Springs will be presented.
According to Ernie Boughman, Director of Operations – Southeastern US for Toole Design Group, “The preliminary vision will communicate the aspirational values of community members who have participated in the visioning process; while not binding, it will provide a clear picture of the community’s desires for the future. Attendees will have the opportunity to review and comment on the preliminary vision and help refine it moving forward.”
In the weeks ahead, Toole Design will develop a written report that summarizes the visioning process, community preferences, and how the visioning products can work within the framework of Spartanburg County’s Area Performance Planning process. Toole Design Group is a planning, engineering, and landscape architecture firm that focuses on developing creative yet practical solutions to move people more efficiently, while improving the quality of life of the community.
Heart of Boiling Springs, an outgrowth of Upstate Forever’s Building a Healthy Boiling Springs Cohort, is made possible through a generous grant from the Mary Black Foundation. According to its lead convener Kelley Ezell, “Heart of Boiling Springs” is interested in engaging the Boiling Springs community-at-large to build community, embrace health, and leave a legacy for future generations.”
