Utility receives singular designation as 2018 Water Resources Management and Protection Agency

Spartanburg Water was recently honored as the 2018 Water Resources Management and Protection Award winner by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA). The award was one of two National Environmental Achievement Awards the utility received at NACWA’s yearly Winter Conference. The award honors one exceptional member agency that demonstrates bold, transformational leadership in managing resources, collaborating effectively in local economic development, and engaging stakeholders – resulting in environmental, economic and social benefits.

The National Environmental Achievement Award Program recognizes individuals and NACWA member agencies that have made outstanding contributions to environmental protection and the clean water community. These awards are given annually following a rigorous selection process.

“We are exceptionally proud to have been recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies for the work our team does each and every day: managing and protecting our water resources,” said Sue G. Schneider, Spartanburg Water CEO. “It is humbling to be singled out from utility leaders across the nation, many much larger than we are.”
