Air traffic levels at GSP International Airport continue to rise

January 24, 2018

The year ending December 31, 2017 was filled with milestones for GSP International Airport. During the month of December, GSP and its partner airlines welcomed 177,894 total passengers. That’s up a whopping 12.1% when compared to December 2016.

According to Dave Edwards, GSP Airport District President/CEO, “Not only did overall passenger traffic increase for 10 of the past 12 months, but in October, GSP recorded an impressive 215,335 passengers marking the first time in the airport’s history where the total passenger count exceeded 200,000 in a single month.” All of this resulted in GSP International Airport finishing calendar year 2017 with an overall increase of 6% over calendar year 2016.

Passenger traffic totals were not the only impressive numbers recorded at GSP during 2017. “Our cargo numbers were just as strong” said Edwards. “Effective January 1, 2017, we assumed responsibility for the Fixed Base Operations (FBO) and launched operations under the brand name Cerulean Aviation, focusing our efforts in two divisions, Commercial Aviation and General Aviation. We finished the year with a 42.8% increase in cargo traffic and a 29.7% increase in fuel. I am extremely proud of our efforts to date and anticipate even more success in 2018,” said Edwards
