Greenlink celebrating Try Transit Month

October 5, 2017

October is “Try Transit Month” in the city of Greenville and Greenlink has a full schedule of events to celebrate. Try Transit Month is part of an ongoing initiative to educate Greenville County residents about the economic and environmental benefits of public transit and encourage citizens who do not typically use public transportation to ride Greenlink. Try Transit Month events include children’s story time with Greenlink bus drivers, transit trivia night and Greenlink’s popular Fare Free Friday sponsored by Greenville Heritage Federal Credit Union.

Fare Free Friday is scheduled for October 27 and on this special day, passengers will enjoy free rides and transfers on all of Greenlink’s 11 fixed routes (Greenville Area Paratransit services are excluded from this promotion). Fixed routes 1-14 operate from 5:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday and route 16 operates from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Schedules and estimated time stops for all routes can be found at www.RideGreenlink.com.

“It is our hope that those who haven’t considered public transit an option in the past will take advantage of this opportunity to give it a try,” said Alan Berry, President and CEO of Greenville Heritage FCU. “Sponsoring this event is also a way for us to thank the regular Greenlink riders for their help with relieving congestion on Greenville roadways.”
