Hairspray The Musical comes to Greenville

The Greenville Little Theatre (GLT) is excited to present Hairspray The Musical! In 1962 Baltimore, Maryland, plump teenager Tracy Turnblad dreams to dance on The Corny Collins Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight and meets a colorful array of characters as she launches a campaign to integrate the show. Based on the John Waters 1998 film of the same name, Hairspray is a family-friendly show piled bouffant high with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs. Hairspray is the winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Book of a Musical.
Directed by Suzanne McCalla, Musical Direction by Tim St. Clair II, and Choreography by Kimberlee Ferreira and Michael Cherry, this cast features Mary Evan Giles, Christina Yasi, Khristin Stephens, Carter Allen, Cat McWhirter, Kristofer Parker, Jon Kilpatrick, Ryan Bradburn, John Brigham, and Mary Freeman.
Tickets prices are $35. Show dates are June 2-3, 8-10, 15-17, 22-24 at 8 pm, and June 4, 11, 18, and 25 at 3 pm.
