Davis & Floyd wins Engineering Excellence award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina

GREENWOOD, SC – Davis & Floyd is pleased to announce they have received an Engineering Excellence award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina (ACEC-SC) for their work in the development of the Greenwood Uptown Market.
Davis & Floyd worked with the City of Greenwood to provide engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical), landscape architecture, and construction management services for the 6,000-square-foot Greenwood Uptown Market. Completed in April 2016, the vibrant recreational facility encourages the community to come together to attend produce market days, concerts, parties, and festivals as well as play in the greenspace and 3,000-square-foot interactive water feature. This special project uniquely blends commerce with recreation and beauty with function.
Engineering Excellence awards entries are accepted into one of 12 project categories, and a distinguished panel of judges ranks the projects from throughout the state based on uniqueness and innovative applications; future value to the engineering profession; perception by the public; social, economic, and sustainable development considerations; complexity; and successful fulfillment of client/owner’s needs, including schedule and budget.
The team was recognized at ACEC-SC’s Annual Engineering Excellence a wards Gala at the Columbia Museum of Art on February 7.
