Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd elects Cleveland, Shaw and Witherspoon as shareholders

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. announced Harvey Cleveland, Ken Shaw and Kimberly Witherspoon have been elected as new shareholders of the firm.
Harvey Cleveland practices primarily in the areas of corporate and healthcare law. He represents companies and healthcare entities in a range of commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, leases and corporate reorganizations. Harvey has experience in counseling healthcare providers on regulatory issues involving the Stark law, federal Anti-Kickback statute and HIPAA, and he also advises clients on corporate formation and governance matters.
Harvey received his juris doctorate, cum laude, and his MBA from the University of South Carolina, where he was a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe. He serves on the board of YMCA Camp Greenville and the Christ Church Episcopal School Alumni Association.
An experienced trial attorney, Ken Shaw’s practice centers on defending healthcare professionals and institutions in matters that range from medical malpractice to premises liability. Drawing from his general commercial litigation experience, Ken has also represented financial institutions, insurance companies, manufacturers and individual clients with actions involving breach of contract, breach of express and implied warranty, unfair trade practices and negligent and intentional misrepresentation actions. He is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Prior to receiving his juris doctorate, cum laude, from Florida State University, Ken was General Manager of the Riverside Paper Company in Tampa and Orlando, Florida.
Kimberly Witherspoon, a public finance attorney, serves as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, borrower’s counsel and corporate counsel in various financing structures. Her clients include colleges and universities, foundations, healthcare institutions, continuing care retirement communities and nonprofit organizations. She also advises government entities on financing structures for various capital and operational needs.
Kimberly received her juris doctorate from Georgetown University. She has been recognized by South Carolina Super Lawyers® “Rising Star” in Government Finance in 2014-2016. A graduate of Leadership Greenville and the Riley Institute at Furman’s Diversity Leaders Initiative, she is a Board Member for the Junior League of Greenville, the United Way of Greenville County and Pendleton Place. She is also a former Board Member for Greenville Chautauqua.
