Nexsen Pruet attorney Sima Patel appointed to Green Ribbon Advisory Committee
November 22, 2016Nexsen Pruet attorney Sima Patel has answered the call to serve on the City of Greenville’s Green Ribbon Advisory Committee. The appointment became official at a City Council Meeting on November 14, and Patel’s two-year term will end in September of 2018.
The Green Ribbon Advisory Committee advises City Council and City staff on sustainability and related environmentally responsible practices in designing, constructing and managing capital improvements and in City operations, and advises City Council on the development of programs and initiatives, including the development of a Sustainability and Climate Action Plan, which will reduce the City’s environmental impact and distinguish Greenville as a leader in sustainability efforts.
Patel is an Associate in the firm’s Business Litigation Group and is based in the Greenville office. She is experienced in representing clients in a variety of commercial disputes, government investigations and complex civil litigation.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association (SCWLA) as well as the Board of Gateway. Patel was recognized in 2015 as one of Greenville’s “Best and Brightest” under 35.
