O’Neal earns safety award from Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas

O’Neal, Inc., a Greenville-based integrated design and construction firm, received the platinum-level safety award for their safety program. This award was presented by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas.
Established in 1989, ABC’s Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Awards program recognizes construction companies across the country for their achievements in safety training and self-evaluation, including ongoing efforts to develop quality safety programs.
“Safety is a core value at O’Neal as our people are our most valuable asset,” said Kevin Bean, O’Neal President and CEO. “We invest in our safety programs and the ABC STEP Platinum recognition is a validation of our efforts and commitment to providing safe working environments for our employees, subcontractors and clients.”
O’Neal was presented with their STEP Award by Cherie Berry, North Carolina Department of Labor; and Richele Taylor, South Carolina Department of Labor.
All employees, subcontractors, and team members are trained and mentored in safety and are expected to perform their job in a safe manner in accordance with the practices and procedures outlined in O’Neal’s Safety and Health Program. Additionally, O’Neal implements a mandatory OSHA 10 training program for all employees to increase awareness of safety and best practices. This safety program aims to achieve a safe workplace with proper planning, orientation, training, oversight and documentation.
O’Neal accepted this award at the ABC of the Carolinas’ 7th Annual Safety Conference on September 9 in Concord, N.C.
