Parker Poe announces new attorneys in Greenville

Firm’s Growth Enhances Services to Business and Economic Development Industries

 

GREENVILLE, SC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP announced that attorney Richard L. Few, Jr. and attorney E. Tyler Smith have joined the new Greenville, South Carolina office, the firm’s seventh location.

Few-Richard (press)A former managing partner at Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, Few joins Parker Poe as a partner with 37 years of experience in strategic tax planning, structuring business mergers, sales, acquisitions and reorganizations, economic development, and commercial and public finance. He has been recognized as a leader in his field by peers and clients alike in publications such as The Best Lawyers in America in Corporate Law (2012-2016).

Few has a deep history supporting the community, involved in such organizations as the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce, Greenville County Planning Commission, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Greenville Humane Society, and American Red Cross Greenville Chapter. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Boston University, his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University School of Law, and his Master of Laws in Taxation from Boston University School of Law.

Tyler Smith, previously with Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, PA.  Smith has worked with clients across the nation serving major financial institutions, public and private borrowers and focusing on complex financial transactions and interest rate swaps. He also has substantial experience with New Markets Tax Credit transactions, having served as counsel to project sponsors, Community Development Entities and leverage lenders.

Smith joins Parker Poe as a special counsel in business and public finance with 16 years practicing in the greater Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson area. He is lead author of the book, Interest Rate Swaps for the General Bond Practitioner and served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Bond Lawyers (2013-2015).

Smith was listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Public Finance for Law in 2016. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Economics from Wake Forest University and his Juris Doctor and Master of Arts in Economics both from Duke University, where he sat as a John M. Olin Foundation Fellow in Law and Economics.
