Enormous waterslide brings a block party to Spartanburg

Slide the City stops in South Carolina during summer tour
City streets will be transformed into the biggest block party of the summer when Slide the City returns on June 18. Families and friends alike can slip and splash down a giant thousand-foot waterslide while onlookers enjoy the surrounding block party. Event organizers are excited to return to Spartanburg, partnering with local charity HUB-BUB (http://hub-bub.com/) for their second year.
“Last year’s event was a blast. Spartanburg’s citizens were seen having fun on national TV. This year, we are on a steeper hill with an even bigger water party, you won’t want to miss it.” said Spencer Hunn, Slide the City co-owner. “We are looking forward to coming back and bringing you our best party yet.”
This massive event is bigger and better than the average block party. Starting at 9 a.m. families, friends and neighbors can take a break from the heat, speeding through three city blocks on inner tubes. Along with the one-of-a-kind slide, the block party will include food, music, and local vendors.
Online registration is now open. Participants can purchase a single, triple or ultimate slider pass during a selected wave time and are encouraged to sign up at http://www.slidethecity.com/location/spartanburg/ before April 8 to take advantage of the current rate. Pricing starts at $10.
