Urban League of the Upstate receives $45,000 grant from Duke Energy Foundation
February 29, 2016The Urban League of the Upstate announced today that for the first time in its history that the agency received a $45,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation. This grant will support the Urban League’s Workforce Continuum of Care: CAST Preparation/Fiber Optic Training Program, which is a multi-tiered, multi-pronged program designed to serve Upstate residents in their career and skills development while preparing the future workforce to meet the demands of the local employers. Â
The duration of the program will be during a 6-8 week period. The Fiber Optic certifications will included Certified Fiber Optic Technician and Certified Premise Cabling Technician. Both certifications are offered through the Fiber Optic Association, the most recognized fiber optic credentialing association in the United States.
