Artists featured at Greenville Technical College to celebrate African-American History Month
February 11, 2016As part of African-American History Month, the Greenville Technical College (GTC) Library will host a celebration of young visual artists from Greenville. Their work will be displayed from Monday, February 15, 2016 through Monday, February 29, 2016 during regular library hours. An opening reception will be held on Monday, February 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to the reception and to view the show.
Featured artists are:
- Geoffrey Carson, a current Greenville Technical College student
- Faith Hudgens, an Upstate artist who showcases different cultures, religions, world events, and abstracts through her art
- Anthony Milan, a former GTC student and current Brandon Fellow at the Greenville Center for the Creative Arts who is widely known for his “Faces of the Upstate” series on Tumblr and Facebook.

These are part of a project in which Milan asked people to finish this sentence: If black lives matter, we should… The overall objective of the project was to create dialogue about issues concerning race, police brutality, and systematic injustices while supplementing demonstration with constructive action.
