Godshall receives re-certification from South Carolina for Woman-Owned Business

December 2, 2015

Godshall Professional Recruiting and Staffing received recertification from the South Carolina Division of Small and Minority Business Contracting and Certification (SMBCC) office for being a woman-owned business.

“As a female-owned business, we are thrilled to receive this recertification from the State,” said Julie Godshall Brown, president of Godshall Professional Recruiting and Staffing. “Receiving this certification alongside 600 companies in the state is a great honor. Having a diverse organization makes it easier for us to understand consumer needs and build trusting relationships.”

SMBCC connects minority- and women-owned small businesses to State contracting and procurement opportunities through the Material Management Office (MMO), while working with State agencies to implement and monitor minority-contracting programs in accordance with applicable policies, laws and regulations.

The goals of the SMBCC are to promote the growth and development of small and minority-owned businesses in South Carolina, to act as an advocate so that an equitable portion of State procurement contracts can be awarded to small and minority-owned businesses and to encourage minority businesses that want state contracts to become certified.

Godshall also received the national re-certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Greater Women’s Business Council, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). WBENC recognizes its members for their investment into the women-owned business community through cause-related support benefitting women, mentoring, volunteerism and more. WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Greater Women’s Business Council is a meticulous process that includes an in-depth review of the business and a site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.
