Frank Walker plays live at Chapman Sunday

SPARTANBURG, SC – Local keyboard artist Frank Walker will perform a free and live concert at Chapman Cultural Center this Sunday, Nov. 29, 2-4 p.m., as part of the venue’s weekly Sundays Unplugged program.

Most recently, Walker released his album Beyond Horizons that is described as contemporary and transformative with elements of rhythm and blues. He is often found throughout the Upstate playing at various intimate venues. Walker began his musical career in his hometown of Belfast, Northern Ireland. At 7 years old, he discovered a natural aptitude for playing piano. He also took up guitar and bass, and sang in local churches, eventually playing throughout Ireland in a gospel duo. By age 19, he released his own first album, Gospel Country Style. Upon moving to the USA, he composed behind closed doors until the release of Beyond Horizons, which is available at iTunes, Amazon, and Wheresville Studio in Spartanburg where the album was recorded.

In addition to Walker’s concert, all of the galleries and museums at Chapman will be open, 1-5 p.m. Spartanburg Art Museum, Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg Gallery, Student Galleries, and Spartanburg Regional History Museum will be open and free of charge. Spartanburg Science Center will also be open, and admission will be $4 per adult and $2.50 per student.
