The Woodlands at Furman applauds AARP

October 10, 2013

GREENVILLE, SC – October 10, 2013 – The Woodlands at Furman applauded the results of a just-released AARP Magazine survey that ranked Greenville as one the five best places to retire on $30,000 a year.

To compile the list, editors considered financial factors such as median home prices and property taxes, as well as lifestyle factors such as inexpensive entertainment and restaurants, the magazine released.

In recognizing Greenville, the magazine wrote You don’t have to give up the city to live cheaply. A lower cost of living attracts retirees to this Southern city, where the median home price is $127,600.

Kevin Parker, executive director of the Woodlands at Furman, said cost of living is one of the many reasons people seek out Greenville, the Upstate and the Woodlands at Furman.

This study further enhances what we know about the Greenville area, he said. That it is a great place to live for seniors.
