Greenville EyeCare Promotes Ultraviolet Eye Protection for Healthy Vision Month

GREENVILLE, SC – May 14, 2012 – Greenville EyeCare Associates, a provider of comprehensive eye healthcare services, is emphasizing the importance of ultraviolet (UV) eye protection during the month of May as part of the National Eye Institute’s Healthy Vision Month.
Specifically, Greenville EyeCare doctors and staff are helping educate patients and visitors on how polarized sunglasses block potentially harmful UV rays while reducing glare and eye fatigue. They point out that proper UV protection for your eyes improves visual acuity, enhances contrast, and reduces squinting.

Dr. Weaver goes on to say that UV protection is necessary even on cloudy or overcast days as harmful rays can easily penetrate through clouds.
