Tri-County Tech 5K Road Race

ANDERSON, SC – Tri-County Technical College is holding its thirdannual Tri-County 5K Road Race Saturday, May 19, at 8 a.m. at itsAnderson Campus.
The race starts and ends at the Anderson Campuslocated at 511 Michelin Boulevard. Walkers are welcome. All raceproceeds will benefit the programs and services of the Anderson Campus.
Cash awards will go to the top three finishers in the Open andMasters categories. Also, there will be age group awards for the topthree finishers in each five-year category beginning with age 9 andunder.
Interested persons can get additional information and register online at www.tctc.edu/race. Online registration ends at noon onFriday, May 18. Entry fees are $20 (online registration, plus a $2.50 processing fee) for those who register by May 14. After May 14, theentry fee is $25 plus the processing fee. Walk-in registration on RaceDay is $28 Race Day (no t-shirt or race pack guaranteed forwalk-ins).
“This is our third year, and we are expecting anothergreat event,” said Rebecca Eidson, director of public relations andcommunications. “The race is part of the S.C. Palmetto Grand Prix andthe course is certified by the U.S. Track and Field Association. We also have great door prizes, tech t-shirts and race-packs for therunners.”
“This is a great event for the community,” said Tim Bowen,Anderson Campus director. “We attract competitive runners from thelocal community and across the state. Last year we added a Walker’sDivision and brought in a whole new group of people who simply wanted to take a healthy, brisk walk, make new friends and enjoy the excitementof a race-day environment.”
