Restoration of Reedy West Bank Set to Begin

February 7, 2012

GREENVILLE, SC – After successfully completing the stabilization of approximately 100 feet of river bank within Falls Park on February 13, the City will begin work on the second phase of the restoration project along the west bank of the Reedy River in proximity to the cul-de-sac of Furman College Way.

While the project will not impact the Swamp Rabbit Trail, limited access into the river at this location necessitates that the work be done from the top of the bank down, which will require a temporary closure of the lower Falls Park trail.  The project is expected to be completed within 30 days and the trail will be reopened on weekends provided there are no safety concerns.
