GREENVILLE, SC – January 29, 2012 – Wondering what your child will do this summer? Or are you looking for a new school for your son or daughter to attend this fall?
Upstate Parent, the Upstate’s number one parenting resource, will host the 11th Annual Upstate Parent Camp & Education Fair on Sunday, January 29 in Greenville at McAlister Square to showcase options for summertime fun and wintertime learning. Representatives from Upstate schools and from camps throughout the Southeast will be on hand to answer questions and discuss featured curriculum and activities.
Summer will be here before we know it, and this is a great way for parents to check out day camp and overnight camp opportunities as well as get information about educational opportunities for their children, said Keith Johnson, Upstate Parent event manager.
The fair allows parents to match their children’s needs and wants to the programs offered by specific camps or schools. There will be more than 40 informational booths at the fair, which means parents are sure to find the perfect match for their children, Johnson said. Some camps, for example, cater to children interested in academic pursuits, while others focus on outdoor activities.
Overnight camps, local day camps, academic and athletic camps, public and private schools, boarding schools, and other camp and education resource providers will be available to meet parents and children and discuss programs. In addition, members of local dance ensembles, gymnastic training centers and martial arts schools will provide entertainment throughout the day.
It will be a great time for families to come see what opportunities exist and have plenty of fun at the same time, said Sudie Gambrell, Upstate Parent general manager. This is a great opportunity for parents to get a jump-start on summer fun.
