CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley to originate live from Wofford tonight

Pelley anchoring 6:30 p.m. broadcast from outside Main Building
 
SPARTANBURG, SC – November 11, 2011 – The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley will be broadcast live, anchored by Pelley, at 6:30 tonight (Friday, Nov. 11) from Wofford’s campus. The broadcast will originate from outside Main Building.
 
The program is the lead-up to the Republican Presidential Candidates Debate that also will be broadcast live from Wofford on Saturday night beginning at 8 p.m.  The debate, which will be held in Benjamin Johnson Arena, is sponsored by CBS News and National Journal, along with the S.C. Republican Party, and will be co-moderated by Pelley and National Journal’s Major Garrett.
 
CBS political correspondent Jan Crawford also will provide live reports from outside Main Building on Saturday morning during The Early Show between 7 and 9 a.m. She also reported this morning from Wofford on The Early Show.
 
Demand for tickets for Saturday’s debate was overwhelming, and no tickets remain to the event.
 
In addition to being broadcast live on CBS from 8 to 9 p.m., it will be live streamed at www.cbsnews.com.  The final 30 minutes of the 90-minute event will be available on CBSNews.com and NationalJournal.com as well as being aired on Face the Nation later this weekend.
