Event to honor extraordinary women in health care

March 10, 2011

ANDERSON, SC – AnMed Health will honor six women for making a difference at work and in the community during the 6th annual Extraordinary Women in Healthcare Reception and Symposium.

The reception and symposium will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 in the AnMed Health Cancer Center atrium. This year’s featured speaker is Renee Romberger, vice president for Community Health Policy and Strategy at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

Diversity and Language Services holds this event each year in conjunction with National Women’s History Month. Honorees are nominated by AnMed Health employees and can come from the health system’s staff, volunteers or medical community.

“Everyday countless women contribute tirelessly to the AnMed Health mission,” said Juana Slade, director of Diversity and Language Services. “Their good works extend beyond our organization, sometimes with little recognition. We created this program to appreciate these unsung heroes and give them the honor they so deserve.”
