GREENVILLE, SC – February 4, 2011 – Prudential C Dan Joyner Co., REALTORS® is pleased to announce that Emily Marcum, daughter of Margaret Marcum, a realtor with the Spaulding Group at the Pelham Road office, was one of the Top Honorees of Prudential Financial’s 15th annual PruKids Volunteer Awards program. This award spotlights the community service of children and grandchildren of Prudential active associates and Network representatives. Judges chose winners based on personal initiative, effort, impact of the service project and personal growth.
Emily, 17, received a $2,500 award for organizing Spirit Week at her school to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children in Greenville. She planned and participated in the weeklong event that included designing an event t-shirt and sunglasses, soliciting sponsors and donors for a silent auction and recruiting local restaurants to participate in profit-sharing nights. Emily’s efforts helped raise $135,000, allowing Shriners Hospitals for Children to purchase equipment that will help fit patients with orthotic devices.
