CITY WEATHER RELATED CLOSURES CONTINUE WEDNESDAY
January 12, 2011GREENVILLE, SC – January 12, 2011 – In anticipation of Wednesday’s continued hazardous weather and road conditions, the City of Greenville will close/suspend the following services:
- City of Greenville offices will be closed for non-essential employees Wednesday, January 12.
- Solid Waste collection services will be suspended Wednesday, January 12.
- The Greenville Zoo will be closed Wednesday, January 12.
A decision regarding whether Greenlink public transportation services will operate will be determined Wednesday at 8 a.m.
Overnight, City crews will concentrate on retreating bridges and overpass surfaces. In the event of dangerous driving conditions, City emergency services urge motorists to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary. To report an accident emergency with injuries, please call 9-1-1. For non-emergency accidents, motorists should call Greenville Police Dispatch at 271-5333. Non-injury related accidents can also be reported at a later date.
The City will continue to monitor both weather and road conditions Wednesday to make a decision regarding Thursday’s schedule.
