“It is a real honor to be able to recognize a man who has led Greenville to become one of the greatest cities in America,” Lt. Governor Bauer said.  “Over the last 15 years, Mayor White has worked tirelessly to revitalize downtown Greenville, promote economic development and encourage social and cultural growth.  It is a true honor to present the Palmetto Patriot Award to Mayor Knox White.”

The Palmetto Patriot Program was established by Lt. Governor André Bauer, and it recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their fellow citizens and the State of South Carolina. The Palmetto Patriot Award is given for one’s commitment to public service within their state and community. The award is the highest the Lt. Governor can bestow.
