Greenville Office Earns 12 Tier 1 Rankings
GREENVILLE, SC – October 7, 2010 – Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP has earned top rankings in the first-ever U.S. News and Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” survey.
The firm’s Greenville office earned Metropolitan Tier 1 rankings in the following 12 practice areas: Corporate Law, Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law, Franchise Law, General Commercial Litigation, Insurance Law, Land Use & Zoning Law, Legal Malpractice Law, Personal Injury Litigation, Professional Malpractice Law, Real Estate Law, Tax Law and Trust & Estates Law.
The Smith Moore Leatherwood offices in Atlanta, Greensboro and Raleigh markets also earned Tier 1 Rankings in 22 practice areas. Tier 2 rankings were awarded to the Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh offices in 6 practice areas.
The full survey appears in the October 2010 edition of U.S. News & World Report magazine and a special section on the USNews.com website. Rankings were based on surveys of more than 9,000 lawyers and clients in the U.S., including representatives of more than half the Fortune 1000 companies. Clients and peers were asked to assess law firms for their responsiveness, understanding of client business needs, cost- effectiveness, integrity, civility and whether they would refer a client to the law firm.
Nationally, 39 practice areas were ranked across about 175 metropolitan and state areas.
