DC Machine LLC Announces Expansion in Berkeley County

Investment expected to create more than 25 new jobs
BERKELEY COUNTY, SC – January 14, 2010 – The South Carolina Department of Commerce and Berkeley County today announced that DC Machine LLC will expand its operation in Berkeley County. The $3 million investment is expected to generate more than 25 new jobs.
“We see this expansion as the next step in the life of our business, and South Carolina has provided us an excellent environment in which to grow. Our skilled workforce has been critical to our company’s success, and we look forward to continuing our operations in Berkeley County. We appreciate all the support from state and local officials,” said Brian Plaisance, owner of DC Machine.
DC Machine will begin construction on a new 35,000 square foot building to house additional operations. In the fourth quarter of 2009, the company moved into a state-of-the-art 15,000 square foot to begin expanding capacity. The company is utilizing high-tech metal working machines to make components for the medical, aerospace, and military industries.

The company expects to begin hiring through the Berkeley County One-Stop in the second quarter 2010. Some positions that will be posted include fabricators, CNC machine operators, CNC machine programmers, welders and assembly personnel. The One-Stop can be reached at 843-899-8722.
