Municipal Association Elects New Officers and a New Board Member for 2009-2010 at December Meeting

GREER, SC – December 9, 2009 – On Tuesday, December 8, members of the Municipal Association board of directors elected new officers and a new board member for 2009-2010 because of a vacancy that occurred when the board president, Mayor Carol Burdette of Pendleton, lost her re-election bid.

New officers

President – Mayor Kevin Johnson of Manning 

First Vice President – Mayor Paul Miller of Orangeburg

Second Vice President – Mayor Randy Randall, Clinton

Third Vice President – Mayor Joe McElveen, Sumter

Immediate Past President Mayor Rick Danner of Greer

New board member
Councilmember Alfred Mae Drakeford of Camden
Representing: Santee-Lynches Council of Governments area
Term expires: July 2010
