UofSC Postal Services open on March Saturdays for passports

The University of South Carolina Postal Services office invites the Columbia community to apply for passports each Saturday in March at their 1600 Hampton St. location.

From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the five Saturdays in March, the office will open for passport application processing services. This will be the only passport office open on the weekends in the Midlands area.

To apply, the applicant must bring the following:

• Complete passport application DS11 from travel.state.gov, completed online or manually in black ink only and unsigned
• 2 in. square color photograph taken within the last six months (photo service is available for $10 payable to UofSC)
• Original certified longform birth certificate or other proof of citizenship, not damaged or altered
• Valid driver’s license or state, military- or federal government-issued ID

The cost for a passport is $110 for adults and $80 for minors, payable by check or money order only to the US Department of State. For expedited service, add $60 to the cost. The execution fee payable to UofSC is $35 and can be paid by cash, credit or CarolinaCard. If you need a photo taken, add $10 to the UofSC bill.
