State Museum presents Friday Night Laser Lights: Capes and Cocktails

The State Museum is hosting a special edition of its popular Friday Night Laser Lights, Friday, Feb. 22, to include access for guests to experience its new blockbuster exhibit, Hall of Heroes. In addition to exciting laser shows and mesmerizing full dome musical experiences, guests can immerse themselves into the museum’s new interactive hands on superhero adventure.

There will be four different shows starting at 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m., all featuring different genres of music and experiences from lasers to full dome music videos.  The lineup includes:

7 p.m. – Laser Light Show: Michael Jackson

8 p.m. – Full Dome Musical Experience: Led Zeppelin

9 p.m. – Laser Light Show: Phish

10 p.m. – NEW! Full Dome Musical Experience: Pink Floyd — The Wall

While waiting on their shows guests can experience Hall of Heroes, where they’ll explore the history and science behind America’s superhero obsession. Guests will get to discover their own superpowers as they test their super abilities at a variety of interactive stations throughout the exhibit.

The event will also feature special laser enhancing glasses for $1, food from Pawley’s Font Porch food truck and a planetarium bar for guests to purchase beer, wine, a new specialty cocktail and nonalcoholic beverages.

 Superhero costumes highly encouraged! Tickets are $10 per show for general public and $8 per show for museum members. ($15 for two shows general public, $12 for members) Hall of Heroes add on is an additional $5 for general public and $4 for museum members.  Please note: Laser shows contain bright, flashing lights that may cause discomfort to those with light sensitivity or other pre-existing conditions.
