Friends of Sesqui to host inagural Shred & Tread community event to celebrate America Recycles Day at Sesquicentennial State Park
November 12, 2018Friends of Sesqui is set to host their first ever Shred & Tread event to celebrate America Recycles Day on Saturday, November 17th. Anchor Shred & Recycle Co. will be offering free shredding services to community members who pay entrance to Sesquicentennial State Park ($5 adults; $3.25 SC seniors age 65 & up, $3 children ages 6-15; free for children 5 and under). In addition to free shredding services, participants will enjoy guided nature hikes with the Sesquicentennial park rangers, educational booths and handouts from over 15 community partners, and information on the upcoming Friends of Sesqui project to improve the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Spillway. The event will take place from 10am – 2pm rain or shine.
“We are very excited to host our first Sesqui: Shred & Tread event at Sesquicentennial State Park,” said Friends of Sesqui President Jim Olsen. “We are grateful to Anchor Shred & Recycle Co. for partnering with us to offer this free service to our community and to all of our amazing local partners who will be educating park visitors on proper recycling and environment conservation. We hope you will come out and join us!”
