iTs|SC announces graduation of 2018 Leadership Insurance class
November 9, 2018The 2018 class of Leadership Insurance graduated last month at Midlands Technical College Northeast Campus. As part of the course, the graduates presented their class project – a pilot program intended to educate local students about career opportunities in the insurance and tech industries.
The class included employees from BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Capgemini, Duck Creek Technologies, Seibels and City of Columbia Economic Development. Their group project provided over 60 students at Fairfield Middle School a glimpse into future insurance and technology career options, increasing interest in the industry by over 400% among surveyed students.
Leadership Insurance is the Carolinas’ only regional leadership development initiative specific to the insurance technology and services industry. Presented by iTs|SC with the intent of developing Columbia’s next generation of industry leaders, Leadership Insurance includes 8 classes designed to expand participants’ knowledge of all facets of the industry – from underwriting to next-generation technologies to capital – while providing access to leading experts and relationship-building networking sessions. In addition, all graduates earn continuing education credits from Midlands Technical College.
