Mayor Benjamin to be inaugurated as President of the US Conference of Mayors – May 7

Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin will be inaugurated as President of the US Conference of Mayors at 6 p.m. on May 7 at the Columbia Convention Center.
“I am honored and grateful to lead America’s mayors as I assume the Presidency of the US Conference of Mayors,” said Mayor Benjamin. “I look forward to an incredible year of implementing bipartisan solutions as well as advocating for our citizens and America’s great cities. This position will place Columbia and our citizens in the spotlight internationally, and we are excited to see the great things to come as we continue in our endeavor to create in Columbia the most talented, educated and entrepreneurial city in America.”
Mayor Benjamin currently serves as Vice President of the US Conference of Mayors. He will succeed Mayor Mitch Landrieu of New Orleans.
